An Antique Decorators Dream in Kansas City

Nicely Done, but Proceed with Caution

MIssion Road Antique Mall

Soon after we returned from our Seattle trip, we were on the road to Kansas City to attend a music concert at the Midlands Theatre. Since Kansas City is three hours away, we decided to take advantage of the drive and get in some additional shopping for store inventory. Our customers had recommended the Mission Road Antique Mall in Prairie Village, KS.

The Mission Road Antique Mall is located on the southwest corner of Mission Road and 83th Street, in the Corinth Square Shopping Center. Our first impression was that this store was going to take some time to go through. It’s huge with two floors and several sections. With 350 dealers in 50,000 square feet, it’s arranged by booths and there is something for everyone. It didn’t smell and it was well lit. There’s a mix of antiques with reproductions, so you need to be careful if you are a purist. Several of the booths’ dealers are obviously experts and know their stuff. Other booths are filled with nicely arranged items, but not necessarily antiques.

Believe it or not, we spent four hours there. We selected a few pieces for the store, just in time for holiday shopping.
