For the past several years, we’ve been going to south central Texas for the bi-annual Texas Antique Week shows. There are literally hundreds of shopping venues along Highway 239, from Burton to Warrenton. We never know what we’ll find, but the minivan usually gets filled up fairly fast. A fall trip to Texas is a hot, dusty time, but we love the challenge.
This year, we bought the most at Blue Hills at Round Top venue. Instead of individual tents, the show has several large open-air pavilions filled with dealers featuring everything from European antiques to Texas collectibles. Parking is convenient and the restrooms are great (which means a lot in the middle of cattle country!) We found the variety of this show to be one of the best of the week. If you’ve been in our store, you know that we feature European antiques and fine furnishings, hand picking each piece. Blue Hills is a dream location for us since you can purchase English, French, Belgian, American, New Designer Products, Garden Decor, Architectural Elements, and much more in one location.
