Vintage Japan Fukusuke Statue – Merchant God of Prosperity

The Fukusuke, a Japanese god, is associated with the lesser luck gods in Japan. We have found notes that the original can be traced back more than 250 years. He is a good luck symbol.

According to one legend, Fukusuke was a merchant in Kyoto, who was very successful in business; therefore, Fukusuke dolls are believed to make businesses prosperous. The Fukusuke is kneeling as a sign of respect. In additional, his ears are big and plump, which is said to bring good luck.
